From Luxembourg to Shanghai.
For World Expo 2010, Luxembourg’s iconic Golden Lady travelled to Shanghai to stand at the entrance to the Luxembourg Pavilion. Created by sculptor Claus Cito, the 1.5-tonne statue became a symbol of the country on an international stage.
Tranelux participated in this exceptional transport project. After the statue arrived in Shanghai aboard a Cargolux flight on 8 April 2010, a Tranelux representative supervised its installation alongside the project architect. It was placed on its three-metre pedestal on 9 April, ahead of the Expo’s opening.
